Do you do international shipping? Do you ship to my country?
Unfortunately, we are not able to ship our alcohol-based perfumes by USPS/UPS/Fed-Ex international airmail because of the rules against mailing hazardous items containing alcohol by air.
So how can I get your perfumes if I live outside of the USA?
One option is to use a freight forwarding service that gives you a USA address; we then ship to the freight forwarder in the USA and they collect and forward all your packages to you, or they can send them one by one. By consolidating your packages from several USA merchants, you can save on shipping. Some freight forwarders will not ship alcohol-based perfume, but others will (depending on the destination country).
We can also time the shipping of packages to arrive at a hotel if you are visiting the USA.
Another option is for us to ship to a friend or family member here in the USA who can then get the package to you.
How much does shipping cost and when do we ship?
Please put your order into the shopping cart and then click Update Cart to compute your shipping charges. Please note that we do not make a profit on the shipping costs; we keep rates as low as we can while still recouping most of our costs for postage, boxes, mailers, packing material, and labels. Currently, if you order $125.00 or more, we absorb the shipping.
We ship via United States Postal Service Parcel Select (retail ground) which takes 2-8 business days.
We do not ship on weekends or US holidays.
Do you require a signature at delivery?
We may require a signature verification upon delivery for orders that total $150.00 or more; if you prefer that the package NOT be left in your absence, please send us a message and we’ll ask for signature delivery on your order even if it is below $150.
Otherwise, the driver will use their judgment as to whether it is safe to leave the package. If you do request signature delivery and then do not make yourself available for the delivery service to deliver on one of their three delivery attempts and do not make arrangements with them to pick up the package, the order will be returned to Sonoma Scent Studio; in that case you would be refunded for the items you ordered but not for the shipping, so please be sure you can be available to sign for the order if you request signature delivery.
What happens in case of theft?
We are not responsible for any loss or theft when the package has been delivered to the address you have provided us with, with the tracking number as proof of delivery.
Can I return my order if it doesn’t work for me?
Products are not returnable because once they leave the studio they can’t be used by anyone else, so you should try samples or small sizes first to make sure you love the scent. If you are unsure, start with the smallest 1 ml samples because those are inexpensive and will give you plenty of perfume to tell if you like the scent well enough to pursue it further.
Please note that on occasion, due to the large percentage of natural materials used in many of our perfumes, there may be some batch variance, although we do our best to make the batches uniform. You will find this to be the case with any luxury item, such as fine art and wine. We want you to be pleased with your purchases, so we’re always happy to answer any questions you have before you order.
Sonoma Scent Studio only uses high-quality cosmetic-grade oils that are skin safe, but occasionally people can have sensitivities to certain fragrance ingredients. If you develop any skin reaction, please discontinue use of the product. This rarely occurs but needs to be mentioned for completeness, and it’s another reason sampling first is a good idea. Please keep these products out of reach of small children and pets. Sonoma Scent Studio is not responsible for any damages associated with the use or misuse of the products. Sonoma Scent Studio products are made and packed in a non-smoking, pet-free environment, which should alleviate worries about smoke or pet allergies.
What happens if there is postage due, leakage or breakage during shipping?
Please email us at email@example.com within 5 days of delivery and we’ll be happy to address the issue. We’ll need a photo (cell phone photos are fine) so that we can determine what occurred.
Please note that sometimes these things happen despite checking the sprayers and caps diligently several times before each order is wrapped (as much as we would like to think we are in control of everything, we are not!), and we would appreciate the opportunity to remedy the situation. Bonus points for those customers with a great sense of humor – we appreciate it!
