Scent Description

Tabac Aurea has an enticing golden amber drydown and a pipe tobacco note that is enjoyed by women as well as men. It’s smooth and softly gourmand, with notes of amber, woods, spices, tobacco, leather, tonka, labdanum, patchouli, and vanilla. The amber accord combines dry earthy notes with sweet elements and subtle fruity touches to create an addictive, beautiful, golden aura. One of our top three best-selling scents.

Perfumer's Secrets

This scent opens with some leather and earthy notes but the tobacco gradually blooms over the opening minutes and then lasts throughout the drydown. When our founder first sniffed the rich, sweet scent of blond tobacco absolute years ago, she was very surprised that she loved the smell of it given that she never smoked or been around pipe tobacco. Blond tabac absolute smells like pipe tobacco but is complex with nuances of hay, moss, and woods. The nicotine is usually removed from tabac absolute during the production process, and there is no nicotine in Tabac Aurea. Other ingredients besides tobacco, both synthetic and natural, can be used to enhance tobacco notes.

Release Notes: Released March 26, 2009.

My personal favourite is Tabac Aurea, a gorgeous golden glutinous waft of amber tobacco woods that smells like honey looks. Tabac Aurea has an enticing golden amber drydown and a pipe tobacco note that is enjoyed by women as well as men. It’s smooth and softly gourmand.

  2. Claire

The textures of the tobacco leaf range from leathery to wet mulch, and the notes can comprise dried fruits, leather, wood, clove, cinnamon, apples, plums, paper, and gingerbread. Tabac Aurea showcases all of these different textures and notes, and the total effect is as if the perfumer held a dried tobacco leaf up against the sunlight, slowly turned it around in her hands, and captured each of its changing colors and smells in one small bottle.

  3. Lucas

Tabac Aurea begins as a warm and embracing perfume that smells mainly of amber. It is very sensual and dreamy. Warm aura it has makes me feel cozy, comfortable and relaxed. For the first few minutes Tabac Aurea is a rather quiet and surprisingly transparent perfume but once it warms up on the skin it starts to do the magic. It takes you to the world of imaginary figures.

  4. Gaia

The tobacco note is boozy and steeped in cherry liqueur. It’s sweet and develops into a somewhat Lutensian dried figs in mulled wine. It’s a little spicy and dries down into a wood-incense-vanilla veil that envelops the skin for the entire day (and then some. Tabac Aurea offers superb longevity). Lovers of spicy oriental perfumes will be delighted with this fragrance.

  5. Ines

One of the best thing about this is that each time you smell it as it progresses, some little thing has changed but so imperceptibly that you are not sure of you are imagining it or it’s really happening. It’s always the same perfume but it keeps winking at you. It makes me feel like I’m all mysterious when wearing, you can never be sure what I’m thinking and whether I’m approachable or not. 😉

  6. Dee

Hauling hay under bright, late-summer sun, he’s got a pouch of sweet vanilla tobacco folded in a flannel shirt pocket— for later, when the job is done. He’s a Stetson man, and the last lingering kiss of the cologne mingles with clean sweat, dirt, and the work-warmed leather of his gloves. Handsome and strong, but with a soft side accessible to the ladies.

    Tabac Aurea, that is.

  7. Benjamin (verified owner)

It’s the best tobacco fragrance on the market. I could wax poetic but all you really need to know is that this is top shelf stuff.
